Welcome to Carpetshire Books
Carpetshire isn’t a real place — but it feels like one.
It’s the kind of world that begins under a blanket fort or at the corner of a storybook page. A soft, curious space where children can slow down, wonder, and feel at home.
I started Carpetshire Books to create more of that; through stories, letters, and thoughtful moments sent gently through the post.
Where the name comes from
My father’s village in Egypt was called “Busat” ; the Arabic word for carpet. I didn’t love it growing up. I wanted to be somewhere else. But when I finally left, I realised I hadn’t quite found “home” since.
So I stitched one together.. part memory, part imagination.
Carpetshire is a quiet tribute to where I come from and the kind of childhood I want to help create: soft, thoughtful, and full of stories.
